Discovering the Unseen Treasures of Upper Siran Valley

Have you ever visited a location that took your breath away?
A location that helped you forget about your troubles and immerse yourself in natural beauty?
That’s how I felt when I visited Pakistan’s Upper Siran Valley.

The village of KUNALI

Welcome to the Upper Siran Valley, my birthplace and one of Pakistan’s most beautiful places.
I’m happy to share my adventure with you, which took place in August 2018, as I discovered the valley’s hidden treasures.

My adventure began in Mansehra, a place noted for its stunning mountains and rich green woods.
My first stop on my voyage was Jabori, a little town 40 kilometres from Mansehra city.
Jabori is my birthplace, and I travel like a native here. I’ve always wanted to visit the upper Siran Valley, which I haven’t done yet.

From Jabori to Mandagucha is just 20 kilometer drive in the mountains through Sacha and Panjul Village.
After arriving in Mandagucha, I set out on a 10-kilometer walk to Dhor, a hidden jewel deep in the valley’s core.

When I began my walk towards Dhor, I was taken aback by the natural beauty that surrounding me.
The sites I visited were breathtakingly gorgeous, each with its own distinct charm and personality.

As we arrive at Khandagali, We are exactly in front of the mighty Musa ka Musallah peak which stands tall at 14400 feet above sea level.

Kunali village, located on top of a mountain, was the first spectacular spot I visited. The view from the summit was spectacular, with mountains spanning as far as the eye could see.

Thanda climbed up next, a lovely corner hill with excellent views of the valley below. The lovely air and peaceful surroundings made it an ideal location for rest and contemplation.
After Thanda, I made my way to Khandagali, a lovely meadow blanketed with wildflowers.I felt like I was in a fairy tale as the vivid colours and fresh perfume of the flowers filled the air.

My next trip was Aram Gali, where there were sheep and herders everywhere.
The pastoral beauty and simple manner of life of the people provided a welcome respite from the rush and bustle of city life.
Eventually, I descended to Chor and Neeli Nadi, two little settlements flanked by a gleaming river.
The crystal-clear water and tranquil ambiance made it the ideal location to relax and take in the natural beauty of the surrounds.
I had the opportunity to spend a significant amount of time exploring the natural forests of Siran Valley.
I went for lengthy walks in those lovely green meadows and took a lot of photos, some of which are already published and others that continue to be part of photo exhibitions.
Years ago, I published a lengthy blog about my adventure on Dawn which can be found here.
