Celebrating 77 Years of Pakistan: A Reflection on Our Tourism and Environment 🇵🇰

Today, as Pakistan marks 77 years of independence, I find myself reflecting on my lifelong journey across this incredible country. From the breathtaking landscapes of Northern KPK, where I grew up, to the countless hidden gems I’ve documented through photography and film, Pakistan’s beauty has always been my passion.

In the 90s, I witnessed a flourishing tourism industry that brought international travelers to our doorstep. However, after 9/11, terrorism cast a shadow over our homeland, and tourism suffered greatly. That was when I dedicated myself to promoting Pakistan’s potential, traveling extensively and sharing its wonders with the world.

Now, as we see a resurgence in tourism, with millions of visitors exploring our small towns, I’m both proud and concerned. The impact of this growth is evident—forests turning into concrete, trash piling up, and the environment suffering.

This Independence Day, I feel compelled to shift my focus. While I’ve always been an advocate for tourism, I now believe we must reconsider our approach. If we cannot respect and preserve our natural resources, perhaps we need to take a step back.

The responsibility is collective—tourists, locals, and government officials. Let’s work together to ensure that Pakistan remains a beautiful place for future generations. 🌍

Wishing everyone a Happy Independence Day, with the hope that we can make our country a better place for those who come after us.
